Self-Guided Running Tours gets you moving and exploring Central Park in Manhattan. You can download one of the many complimentary 5K or 10K Walking or Running Tours. Hack your workout and see New York while exercising with our self-guided GPS enabled running or walking tours of Central Park.
Taking a Self-Guided Tour
Click on "Tours" to see the list of available tours and see which one interests you. You can listen to the tour as a podcast or run/walk through Central Park and the app will send you push notifications when you should turn or there is a point of interest. Press the push notifications to hear the audio or explore on your own. The app has audio with directions but the app is not a turn by turn navigation app. If you get off of the route, open the app and click on "GPS" at the bottom and see where your blue dot is located. Click on any pin on the GPS map to "Get Directions" or "Stop Details" to learn about that point of interest. You can also see the 'Route' map that shows the entire route of the tour.
Enable the GPS Feature
You must press "Allow' when the app asks to track your location and press "Allow" for push notifications to enable the audio tour. Make sure your phone is not set to vibrate. If your phone is set to vibrate, you will not hear the audio.
